And I’m not just saying this to get 40 comments from Larry
Is there a more bitter ex-candidate that Mike Huckabee (hat-tip Hot Air)? He can cover it up with a smile but his criticisms of everyone that stood in his way during the election just don’t ring true. Here is Gary Bauer on the ole Huckster:
In fact, talking with Huckabee was like playing whack-a-mole, because he had a number of issues that posed problems. It wasn’t just that he didn’t get it on foreign policy. His record on taxes and spending, illegal immigration, his apparent backing of Al Gore’s carbon cap and trade scheme, support for voting rights for Washington, D.C., and cozying up to unions like the NEA all worried me. Huckabee can call it whack-a-mole. But for me there were just too many items where he wasn’t sufficiently conservative coupled with a lack of attention and experience on foreign affairs.

Good news
Huckabee joining Fox News as political commentator
Why good news? A political commentator probably won’t be picked for VP, and likely won’t have a shot at running for president as they will, undoubtedly, say many controversial things during their stint. Despite what some of my readers, Larry, may think, I don’t hate Huckabee. I just don’t want to see him in any position of power is all.

I guess when you’re not going to be president, you’ve got some time on your hands
Mike Huckabee’s website has a creepy countdown clock and there’s speculation that he’ll be making a big speech on the 15th, the day the clock stops. I’m betting it’ll be about taxes, and how enacting the fair tax would mean this was the last tax day ever. I also think it’s his way of shilling for the vp slot.
