I still love me some Fred!
Thompson/Palin, now there would’ve been a ticket:
Now our opponents tell you not to worry about their tax increases.
They tell you they are not going to tax your family.
No, they’re just going to tax “businesses”! So unless you buy something from a “business”, like groceries or clothes or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small “business”, don’t worry … it’s not going to affect you.
They say they are not going to take any water out of your side of the bucket, just the “other” side of the bucket! That’s their idea of tax reform.

Sigh. Why couldn’t it have been him?
Fred Thompson take on Obama on a McCain campaign call:
“Senator Obama would do well to stop apologizing to the rest of the world for America’s attempts to protect itself during the time of war,” Thompson said.
He also criticized Obama for citing the prosecutions of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers as a model for how he would fight terrorism.
“That was the best example of why we can’t treat these terrorist cases as ordinary criminal cases,” Thompson said
If only campaigning by phone, email or television were enough, this could’ve been our guy!

Facing reality
Dear Fred Thompson: If you don’t win South Carolina, and boy I hope you do, it’s time to go.

Fred!
Yes, I’m concerned that the hype will translate into a Fred flop and yes, I know he’s not perfect, but wowee am I excited that it looks like Fred Thompson will enter the race on the 4th of July. Anyone want to roadtrip to Tennessee right around then to watch him announce? Allah? Ace?
Hat-tip Peter and Charlie.

Who is next?
Funkypundit is starting to warm to Fred Thompson. This is a big deal because he had previously been in the “Rudy, and Rudy only” camp.
UPDATE: YAY! Allah is next! He links to Fred’s piece in NRO and writes “I’m not saying I’m not voting for Rudy. But I’m not saying I’m not not voting for Rudy, either.”
