Willing to be pleasantly surprised
I want to be wrong. I would feel very happy getting this election wrong. But this is the way I think the map breaks tonight (and I think WI and IA are longshots for Mitt too). I think it will be close overall but that Obama takes it in the end.
Va to Romney?
Posted by: Jamie at November 6, 2012 at 6:08 pmI think Wisconsin holds for Obama. If Romney loses there and Tommy Thompson goes done…..Paul Ryan’s stock plummets.
Posted by: Von Bek at November 6, 2012 at 6:36 pmI generally think of VA as a Republican state even if Obama did carry it last time. Could be wrong about that (and about everything), obviously.
Posted by: Karol at November 6, 2012 at 7:13 pmVa has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation. Why? Federal jobs….the Old Dominion is changing alas but I think the GOP holds on today.
Posted by: Von Bek at November 6, 2012 at 7:14 pmStupid Drudge is getting my hopes up about Ohio.
Posted by: Karol at November 6, 2012 at 7:22 pmWhy had you thought Wisconsin would go to Romney? As it turns out, Obama’s margin was much smaller in Colorado, for example.
Posted by: Anonymous at November 7, 2012 at 11:08 amMy thinking was that Wisconsin would go Romney because Paul Ryan is from there.
Posted by: Karol at November 7, 2012 at 2:24 pmBut I did note that I thought it was a longshot.
Posted by: Karol at November 7, 2012 at 2:24 pmSurprised? Yes
Half right
