Conservative band Madison Rising denied performing permit at…Zuccotti Park. Yes, the park that was “occupied” for over two months with no permits at all. Read Todd Seavey’s article about the situation and the predictable tolerant reaction they’re getting here.

First mistake was asking permission. IMO they could still play if they were as brave as they talk. I do not think they really want to play ZP.
I think this is false outrage. The commenters in the piece whine about intolerance, but manage to continue the linguistic trick of changing ‘Rep’ v ‘Dem’ to Americans v haters of America. How can they complain about not getting a fair hearing when their views on this are being heard in a newspaper? OWS was roundly ignored for a few weeks before it hit the news cycles.
The article itself contains no quotes from actual opponents of Madison Rising. It does contain a lot of quotes the Madison Rising people tell you happened (hearsay evidence). Poor journalism. I’m also certain that some people with “pierced faces” support the GOP!
I also find this piece bizarre when GOPers normally deride musicians and actors for becoming political.
Look at the Youtube clip ‘Reagan–no loopholes for millionaires’
Oh my stars they suck! No light touch in these lyrics. ‘Honk if you want peace’ is stand-out poor. The Reagan song is just cringe-worthy. And some of the songs are just whiney (that one about the media). And they desperately wish they were Nickelback!
