But the bankruptcy and cronyism doesn’t help.
My latest for WNYC’s A Free Country points out that even without the bankruptcy and the cronyism, Solyndra was no success.
Agreed. We now need to stop giving tax breaks to companies who send US jobs overseas. The CEO should pay the same % of tax as the lower grade staff at his business, not less!
Posted by: Lt. Oilybird at September 20, 2011 at 4:57 pmOnly on planet liberal does the CEO not pay a higher percentage than his secretary. AP fact-checked the ridiculous claim that they don’t–I’ll let you guess (or google) what they found.
Posted by: Karol at September 20, 2011 at 8:27 pmI find it hard to believe AP didn’t find more than that from my own travels. The companies living off corporate welfare, can you disprove that?
Posted by: Lt. Oilybird at September 21, 2011 at 3:15 pmWhy would you think I’m for corporate welfare? I think the government should be paying for the very basics of our society- defense and little else. I started writing “schools, roads, prisons” but I think all of those would be better suited to private companies.
