If Fred Thompson ran again…
I was a big supporter the first time. Don’t know what happened.
Posted by: Gerard at April 19, 2011 at 9:53 pmhas Fred come out of his coma yet?
Posted by: Larry at April 19, 2011 at 11:02 pmI just saw him in Die Hard 2 on cable last week. He showed the kind of good leadership we need in DC in that movie.
Posted by: Dan L at April 19, 2011 at 11:02 pmDid you read the link, Larry? His whole “coma” thing was a media fabrication.
Posted by: Karol at April 19, 2011 at 11:30 pmAwesome piece, BTW. It reminded me of why I like him.
Posted by: Gerard at April 20, 2011 at 1:21 ammedia fabrication?…everytime I hear that guy speak, he puts me to sleep.

EXACTLY. I smiled all the way through.
Posted by: Karol at April 20, 2011 at 11:44 amI would support him as well, if he were to run.
I will say though, that media fabrication or not, a successful presidential candidate needs to have better control of the message that is being used to describe him.
It’s not very useful to counter the false message 3 years after it happened. Even many conservatives believed the false message. Thompson has no one to blame for that other than himself.
Anyway – he was my top choice for the nomination last year, and was frustrated that he didn’t get traction. I’d support him again this year if he chose to ran.
Posted by: Kevin at April 20, 2011 at 12:54 pmI think the red truck guy is a little long in the tooth.
Posted by: Capt. Oilybird at April 20, 2011 at 6:12 pmI’d rather see someone like Paul Rayan – strong, focused and methodical, and no negative baggage behind him – but if there will be a choice between Fred and Huckster, have no doubt – I’m for Fred.
