Answering stupidity
A lot of good stuff has been written in the last few days, disputing the idiocy that Sarah Palin, conservatives or “rhetoric” were responsible for the mass murder in Tucson, but James Taranto nails it like few others. Paul Krugman should apologize and resign.
By god, yes! Krugman should be forced to leave his job of writing an opinion column since he wrote an opinion with which you disagree.
How dare he think that an opinion column is a place for him to write his opinion!?
That sounds suspiciously like “eliminationist rhetoric” to me.

Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2011 at 6:30 pmOpinion columnists and op/ed writers are allowed to have incorrect/stupid/whacko opinions without getting fired. That’s what distinguishes their jobs from those of news reporters.
Posted by: Doc Washboard at January 14, 2011 at 9:49 pmThis one blamed a mass murder on conservatives.
Posted by: Karol at January 15, 2011 at 12:09 amIf having an incorrect or stupid or douchebaggy opinion on a topic meant that the opinion-holder had to resign his or her job, then Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, Coulter and the rest would have been panhandling on streetcorners years ago—-but that’s not the way we do things here.
If it pisses you off so much, don’t read the Times.
Posted by: Doc Washboard at January 15, 2011 at 12:45 amAt least there’s one columnist at the NYT who’s not drinking the Kool-Aid.

Just a reminder, that NYT columnist has previously written that he’s more afraid of conservatives than terrorists: http://alarmingnews.com/2009/11/22/nyt-columnist-charles-blow-thinks-conservatives-are-dangerous/
Posted by: Karol at January 16, 2011 at 1:04 amTrue, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. People can change once they realize the mistakes they’ve made.
