What part of “filibuster-proof majority” does Harry Reid not understand?

Harry Reid Lashes Out at Republicans After Senate Sinks Medicare Measure

It’s pretty awesome. Republicans have no power, and yet all the power:

Last week he accused Republicans of trying to kill health care reform, saying, “Republicans will do everything in their power to stop reform this time.” When asked Tuesday why the Senate had not passed an extension of unemployment insurance benefits, Reid responded, “The word starts with an R.’ Republicans. Republicans.”

At some point one of his aides might want to explain to Reid that he doesn’t need a single Republican vote to pass any of his dumb bills. But not today, I like us being all-powerful

Not only does he not need a single Republican vote, but he can count on the Maine sisters to vote for whatever big government program he puts before them. He’s starting at 62.
This is really all about the Democrats being afraid to pass something they might have to defend at election time.

Eric, EXACTLY. Despite the bs claim that 70% (!!!) of the country supports a public option, they are afraid to push it. Why? Could it be that the 70% number is just a little too high?

One of my favorite Onion tweets:
“BREAKING: Democrats Hoping To Take Control Of Congress From Republican Minority In 2010″

Posted by: Eric at October 22, 2009 at 12:37 pm

“There was a vote. 30 of our guys (note OUR) said the woman could not sue, and the contract was OK.”

Can you give more info on this? Not that I’ll fall for your goading into defending the indefensible. I regard Congress as a bunch of 534 crooks, myself, so this wouldn’t surprise me.

Next thing we know, Walrus will appear!

Yes, I’m ok, just had a busy few days and actually am transferring this site over to a new operating system which is causing some problems. I’ll have some posts up soon. Thanks for worrying about me, you can always see if I’m dead or alive based on my twitter updating. ;-)
