The Motley Fool takes on the Washington Redskins.

As owner of the Redskins, Dan Snyder’s a textbook example of how not to lead an organization. His tenure’s all about excessive micromanagement, myopia, and thus far, unequivocal failure. As Fools, it is incumbent upon us to recognize these practices and avoid them as we walk down a road to financial success. Don’t be like the ‘Skins and Snyder, and please don’t park your money with those who are.

I heard that Snyder was being placed in charge of reinvigorating Obama’s health care takeover plan. Sounds like he has the perfect skill-set.

Snyder is a good Republican

But a horrible owner.

I’m a snyder guy…I want my owner doing whatever it takes…the media hates him cuz he came into the league as a young owner who spent big….media doesn’t like owners like that…plus he doesn’t talk to the media, so he’s an easy target…..he’s been let down by horrific coaching, and that includes gibbs 2.0

Horrific coaching? Really? Hmm, I’m sorry, what was Marty Schottenheimer’s record again when Snyder booted him? Oh, that’s right, 8-8. You’re familiar with Marty, right? One of the top 10 winningest coaches of all time? But, you’re right, horrific coaching. Oh, wait, who hired those coaches again?
Get a clue, Larry. There’s a reason why Mike Shanahan basically said, “Yeah, we’ll talk after the season, Dan…” despite a reported $7 million a year offer. Since you’ve obviously left reality behind, I’ll spell that reason out for you–your owner’s a train wreck. T-R-A-I-N W-R-E-C-K. Does whatever it takes? How about shuttin’ the bleep up, hiring someone who actually knows something about professional football, and then sitting up in the owner’s box eating filet mignon and watching the product on the field? Notice Bob Kraft running the Patriots like a fantasy football league? How about the Steelers’ owners? Gee, maybe that’s why they’ve won most of the Super Bowls since Danny Boy came into the league. Nah, has to be because Mr. Snyder doesn’t talk to the media.
Trust me, as someone who realized that his team was never going to get good until the ownership changed (and incidentally whose horrid team beat yours last Sunday), I can honestly say the Redskins will _not_ improve while you have your current owner / GM combo in place.

what have the Chiefs won the past 40 years?…carl peterson and lamar hunt were considered great at their jobs…won nothing…had some nice runs…but ofcourse had that “great” coach in Marty schottenheimer…one of the worst playoff coaches in the history of football…Snyder hired because he was desperate for a big name after the Norv turner debacle….he was forced to give Marty complete control…it was a mistake…period.
steve spurrier, joe gibbs 2.0 and Zorn were/are not good coaches….i love gibbs, but he was completely out of football for 12 years…it was a good thought, didn’t work..although we did make the playoffs twice.
I have no arguments with firing our GM….and if you think we’re not going to hire a big time coach after the year, you haven’t been paying attention….one of the following will be the coach….Shanny, Holmgren, cowher, gruden
