President Obama, how do you manage to be so awesome

That’s pretty much the line of questioning the enchanting Obama got tonight. Pathetic? Sure. But anyone who has been expecting something different hasn’t been paying attention. Someone in Hot Air’s comment section said that Dennis Miller noted that we live in funny times when a Miss America contestant gets tougher questions than the president. Indeed.

And you thought “O come let us adore him” was something sung only toward the end of the calendar year!
Now it’s always Christmastime for Obama’s followers. He’s their Sata^H^H^H^HSanta that giveth throughout the year. The difference is that he isn’t lifting a finger even to deliver: instead of elves, it’s those of us who are economically productive that have to “give” to everyone else and pay delivery costs to boot.

Obama should face those hard hitting questions that the likes of Jeff Gannon asked W. But why should we expect the President to be asked tough questions? The cult of the presidency is back in full force despite the string of stiffs (except the Gipper) we have had in the Oval Office in my lifetime. It doesn’t matter if he is landing a plane on an aircraft carrier or flying by the Statue of Liberty and where the towers used to be on Air Force One-we have no king but Caesar alas.

I absentmindedly came upon a swatch of his interview (or speech, or attempt of no-teleprompter-training) on yesterday’s news, where he said something like “Com’n, other presidents had it easy – a problem at the time. And I have it all coming at me at once!”
So, the Awesome Sunray of Hope and Change starts making excuses already…

I’m still laughing at the teleprompter mishap the other day….

Uh huh. You realize Jeff Gannon was scrutinized because his softballs made him stick out like a sore thumb amid all the speech-questions and gotchas from the others?
Nobody would give Gannon a second thought today with the fluffy questions TOTUS is getting from the same people who spent eight years throwing rocks at Bush.

Sadly Eric is pretty much spot on here. I just wish the Republican activists had been raising these type of issues back in 2005 with Gannon and the slowpitch rotation from Fox. We really have given the POTUS too much power and prestige. Where’s William Henry Harrison when we need him?

The difference between Gannon and the MSM: gay as he is, Gannon didn’t make it obvious he wanted to fellate Bush. The MSM draw straws to see who goes next, and Chris Matthews keeps butting in line.
