This is what you get…when you mess with us

Skepticism is not allowed, via Drudge:

As the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, anti-totalitarian and climate change sceptic, prepares to take up the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, climate alarmists are doing their best to traduce him.

The New York Times opened a profile of Klaus, 67, this week with a quote from a 1980s communist secret agent’s report, claiming he behaves like a “rejected genius”, and asserts there is “palpable fear” he will “embarrass” the EU.

To be fair, the StB was probably just as reliable a source of information as The New York Times.

Klaus comes at an opportune moment as satellites show that the world has had 10 years of cooling since 1998.

It figures that the NYT would give credence – and have access! – to communist secret police files.

Dr. Klaus and Walter Williams received the 2006 Adam Smith Award for Excellence in Free-Market Education, given annually by the Foundation for Economic Education. John Stossel was the M.C. that year.
All that should be enough to tell you that Klaus is a great man. Not because he strives to be the greatest among us, but because he champions individual liberty so that any man can achieve his own greatness.
