“I love you, but I’m afraid to love you. Oh that was so real.”

Jeff Buckley died while swimming in the Mississippi River 10 years ago today. He was beautiful and made perfect, gorgeous music. On his song “Lover, You Should Have Come Over”, he sang about shoes filling up with water. He drowned wearing his boots. We didn’t have him long enough and that’s really too bad.

Jeff Buckley

Hat-tip Peter.

Karol,
Do you have the “Live in Chicago” concert DVD from the 1995 ‘Mystery White Boy’ tour ?
(Not to be confused with the CD from the same tour.)
It’s awesome. (The CD is, too.)
I also have the biography about him & his father, entitled, “Dream Brother.”

I really love Jeff Buckley. What a loss.

BBIAS, no I don’t have the DVD. I should get it. His father died so young too, younger than Jeff actually, it’s so sad and weird.
Rachel, yeah, our loss.

Karol,
By the way, last I heard, the film bio IS in pre-production.
Buckley’s mother is a producer on it.
Any thoughts about casting “Jeff”?
How about James Franco ?
He’d be the right age.
Jeremy Davies might also be a good pick—if he hasn’t aged too much in the past few years.
Davies is already 37 or 38.

James Franco would be a great choice. He looks so much like him! I’m sure a Johnny Depp could do him justice too, but he’s also too old.

I heard that Brad the Pittster had expressed interest in the role but his mom wouldn’t agree to it since he’s too old. I think they need to get an unknown – I need a clean slate when I watch a biographical film.
