To be honest, I think he just be grateful that he didn’t inadvertantly refer to him as “Apu.”

I would think he would just argue that by ‘clean’ he meant unencumbered by scandal, failed initiatives, or foot-in-mouth problems.
Biden’s real problem is that he’s Yet Another Northeast Liberal. You would think that Kerry took care of crushing any desire for a President out of that stock…

Don’t sell him short.
Once this blows over-and his campaign is able to plagiarize a few Gordon Brown speeches-he’ll be in the catbird seat again.

Joe Biden’s comment typifies how white Democrats think of black people. Democrats are surprised when black people are clean.
