What’s most interesting about the spectacle is watching the media do what they do best, nothing. Not a peep of anything having to do with U.S. support of Saddam, before, during, and after most all of his worst crimes. Not a peep about how up until the day before Kuwait Bush I gave him another billion. Not a peep about how the U.S. helping him gas the Iranians. Not a peep about how, with the help of the C.I.A., he was put into power in the first place. Not a peep about the illegality of the war in the first place. Not a peep about much of anything other than he’s dead. Yea! Whoopee! We helped kill a killer who we supported! Yea for us! There’s little doubt that this was nothing more than a political action and probably had little to do with law at all. For if it did, and we’ve decided to actually start applying the laws, for once, there are a few others who will no doubt be in trouble pretty soon. This is pretty much a case of “Look how great it is the monster’s gone!” “Look what WE did!” “We got him!” “Everything can be better now!” (Camera 1: Pan to the 100 or so cheering Iraqis screaming “He’s dead! He’s dead!”) (Camera 2: Cut to one of the “legal experts” to keep everyone busy so that we don’t have to talk about all of those things kb mentioned above) (CUT to commercial selling Hanging Saddam dolls at The American Enterprise Institute. Zoom in on Kissinger punching the gallow door drop over and over) Get ready for the “in-depth” interview with three pundits who go into great detail about where the gallow was constructed, whether or not Saddam was wearing Old Spice when he refused the hood, and if his last meal was some of the spam they found in his hole in the ground. (After that just push the replay tape loop button and go on home for the week.) You’ve all done a really good job at showing what really happens in the world. Yes, we ARE the “liberal media” and do such a great job of really shedding light on how the real world works.kb

KB-
Get real.
The fact that the United States was not a vocal enemy of Saddam Hussein during the 1980s is not proof that we “supported” him. In fact, we were in a cold war with Iran, the biggest terrorist state in the world, and Saddam was on the front lines of the fight against Iran. As far as I am concerned, there is no difference between this alliance and Roosevelt’s “support” of the Soviet Union against Hitler during World War II.

What a pontificating moron. We often have to support indirectly or directly political positions international or otherqwise because they are the lessor of two evils. How about our indifference to German aggression and much of Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930’s? Doees that make us hypocrites when a critical mass comes and the chance to make right crosses our path? As a freaking Socialist/Communist that you probably are (my first time on this site, i have no idea what your dribble is actually), how about your own contradictions? Marx, Castro, Stalin, Vietnam? Etc, etc.? What’s your solution, asshole? Let the dictators go? Replace our leaders with European idiots who choke on a gnat and swallow camel dicks? FUCK YOU.
Bring back AMERICAN MANIFEST DESTINY

Oh, and the idea of Saddam shitting his pants and finding out suddenly that the South park version of Satan and Hell is a little off really got me hot and bothered. I was in the service during the American Hostage crisis, and part of Operation Eagle Claw (rescue mission called Desert One). I want Aminijabs head on a stick next.
And then Kim Jon Il, about half a million islamic terroists, and then we can start on the insidious secular progressive/i.e. communist party incognito/Marxist socialists who haven’t learned their lessons from history and are intent on destroying nations as long as they can profit from it in some way.
Fuck ‘Em all, and let God sort them out.
To radical for some? Read Ann Coulter’s book Treason. Read William Bennet’s book Why We Fight, and read the other 2,000 books I have read over the past 25 years on American and Wrold History and politics, philosophy, and religion, and science.
The conclusions are clear, we are in a moral, philosophical, religious and military conflict for who will control the world in the next century. If the Socialists or Muslim Fanatics win, we are doomed. If Western Civilization prevails, we will continue to flourish and evolve as humanity should.
End of Freaking story.
