REPORTER: During the Carter administration there was a 55-mile-an-hour speed limit, which even the oil company executives say driving slower would save gas. Would you favor a return to a national speed limit?
HILLARY: The 55 mile speed limit really does lower gas usage, and wherever it can be required and the people will accept it, we ought to do it.

When is the last time Sen. Clinton drove, let alone drove in an area with a population density lower than that of New Jersey? It would have pretty bad side effects.
Unless this is part of a sinister plan to make those in wide-open Red states lose the will to live. Because, let me tell you, it would work well.
More proof that Hillary is technologically challenged.
55 miles per hour made sense 30 years ago. But today’s cars are much more aerodynamic and the engines are much more efficient at high speed. Thus the mileage drop-off speed is now 63-65 miles per hour. That is close to the speed limit on most of our interstates now.
If $3.25 per gallon of gas does not drop gas usage, then no law ever will.
This sure seems like a political boo boo that the GOP Senate candidates should exploit. This idea has to be deeply unpopular upstate.
