Bring on Rudy?

Tom Ridge resigns.

He has nowhere else to go. Why not ?

I was hoping that Bush would nominate somebody who actually knows something about homeland security and anti-terrorism, but that chances of that happening are nil.
He’ll just find another bootlicking yes-man.

I was hoping that Bush would nominate Don Myers, because Don obviously sounds like an expert.
It is funny how the lunacy-based community expects Bush to appoint people who disagree with him to key positions, and call such people names. It doesn’t seem to occur to them that
a. You can get much more done when you don’t have to spend time arguing that jihadis are not freedom fighters, and Iraq is not on located on the Moon, and
b. That most Americans think that Bush is working in the right direction
But then of course, most Americans are stupid, so we should let Michael Moore and Barbra Streisand decide how to make America safe. Then the age of witches shall surely pass.

Nah, I think Rudy wants to run for president, and it’s not really feasible to run a campaign while working as a cabinet secretary. Also, he’s not a longtime Bush crony, which seems to be the prereq these days.

Rudy would be awesome! He could still resign in 2 1/2 years time to run for President.

Rudy is not doing anything until he runs for President. No need to enhance (nor tarnish) an already stellar resume.
