Alarming News

July 31, 2004

It’s finally happened to me.

John Kerry has given me hope:
Kerry’s four-point “bounce” is the smallest in the history of the NEWSWEEK poll.

Update: Reuters spins the weak four point bounce as ’solid’ and the article is complete with a photo of a guy in the very common ‘Republicans for Kerry’ t-shirt. That’s right, Kerry’s solidly leading in the polls and Republicans are coming over to his side in droves, lured by the hope of the presidential candidate and his grinning sidekick. Sometimes, you gotta love the liberal media.

Instead of blindly believing anything, like you said in a previous comment, you can always just look at the evidence.

I don’t trust polls, particularly national ones like this, to predict results but this is still hopeful news for Bush supporters, Kerry’s bounce was pathetic and Bush’s convention is coming up.

Look, you’re absolutely right. This bounce is crap and with the Repub convention coming up, Bush is certain to get a springboard double digit lead that he will hold onto until his November landslide re-election.

People don’t watch conventions anymore. There are 150+ cable channels to choose from, video games, dvd movies, the internet. It’s not like the early 80’s and before when evenings were spent in front of the tube with a selection of 3 networks stations to choose from all of which are showing the convention.
Conventions will become less and less important from here on out.

Is this a suprise ? There are only a handful of undecided voters in the few states that are really in play.
